Kinja'd!!!

Saw this outside the kitchen window at my office and had to stop and take a photo. They are both pretty far from the curb, with the Fiat being at least 4 feet away. The front bumper of the Jeep is solidly touching the back of the Fiat. There are no cars within at least 5 or 6 feet of either side.

If you told me the jeep rear ended the other car and then they both stopped where they were to leave and have lunch together I’d almost believe you. The real question is, who messed up worse?

I don’t have an answer, but based on how the wheels on the Fiat are turned I’m inclined to think they were backing up until they touched the jeep and decided it was good enough .

Either way I’m glad my car sits in a lot and not out on the street there.

I am jealous that your streets are wide enough that when someone parks 4 feet from the curb, they are not obstructing traffic. Where I live if you are 4 inches from the curb you might get side swiped .

Well, whoever parked there 2nd is the bigger idiot, clearly.

My money is that it’s the Fiat - it seems to be parked in the middle of the street basically.

My guess:

The J eep was there first, there a car 0.9 spots ahead of it, and the F iat decided to wedge itself in betw een .

Which reminds me, I really should look at getting a passenger -side winch installed on the Jeep. Think how much easier parallel parking would be.

Oh right: 4 LO.

That is definitely one adjective to describe Pittsburgh’s streets. It is also a reason I sold my motorcycle.

See, this is where if I was the second car looking to park somewhere, I wouldn’t play along. I’d park at the curb where I belong, which would help make it extra clear just how badly the first car was parked.

I recently got back from Ireland. Besides the fact that this would never fly there, even when parking in a normal spot against the curb in most cities you would be jutting into the traffic lane slightly

That’s what I would think except just out of the shot in front of the Fiat is the exit lane to a bank ATM (I work above a bank). There should be nobody parked there ever so this makes even less sense

Well, you see, obviously the answer is... um...

Yeah, I got not hing.

Or winch across to the other side of the street.

If it gets you in, it should be able to get you out.

As ridiculous as this whole situation is...

You’d need another winch on the driver side, and run a cable across traffic.

Just put a winch on every side. Now you can winch yourself to everything and anything.
